When Maddie was a baby, we had a plastic store-bought mobile above her crib that worked okay, but it wasn't something I loved. So when Adah came around, I decided to make a mobile for her. And why not butterflies?
I used this tutorial to make the butterflies, but added a small button to the bottom instead of just tying a knot.
Hang at the appropriate height above the crib. When Adah starts standing (which seems like a long ways off right now!), she won't be able to reach the butterflies. You could use different fabrics for each butterfly, or a different fabric for the front than the back.
I think it's cute, don't you?
