$105 worth of fabric for $25!

Yep, you read that right! I scored the deal of a lifetime, and I didn't even do it on purpose. There was no planning, no scheming, no coupon clipping!

The hubs and I went to Roanoke for a volleyball tournament this past week -- which was AWESOME by the way! -- and did a little shopping on Friday evening before the festivities began. I had looked up craft stores in the area before we left because I wanted to get some items for a project I want to work on. Like, two little measley things is what I was looking for, and it was not fabric.

I googled "craft stores Roanoke" and Jo-Ann's popped up. Woohoo! I made a mental note of the location (um, 2.1 miles from our hotel!), and off we went. The first stop after checking into our hotel was Jo-Ann's. We drove the 2.1 miles over there, and walked in. There was almost NOTHING in the store. What?!

They were moving to a new location across town. They didn't actually move any of their current merchandise over, and were selling EVERYTHING in the store at a super deep discount -- like the cutting tables, display cases, fabric, notions, fixtures, EVERYTHING! If I had lived in Roanoke and had a truck, I would have bought a LOT more. (The fabric cutting table was on sale for $35! HELLO!) The two little items I was looking for were not there, BUT THEN I HEADED TOWARDS THE FABRICS...

75% off!

So, I picked up bolt after bolt after bolt, including cottons and outdoor fabrics, and headed to the cutting table. The lady there was smiling as I waddled up with my stash and asked what I was going to make with all of this. "I dunno! Something!" She laughed. I had a huge goofy grin on my face!

Lets put this in perspective. Outdoor fabrics cost $20 a yard. $20 A YARD! The others I bought were originally $9 a yard. I didn't know how much to get because I didn't have any sewing projects planned, but since I got a book this Christmas with all projects that require a yard of fabric, I decided on one yard per bolt. (I should have gotten a lot more. Kicking myself!)

This is what I got. Value = $105!

This is what I spent: $24.95!

Lets take another look, shall we?

Side note: I found the new Jo-Ann's location in Roanoke, but it isn't opening until the middle of April.

Now, WHAT SHOULD I MAKE?!
