spring wreath!

I've been seeing a lot of blog tutorials on how to make bright and cheerful spring wreaths, so I decided to make my own.

I grabbed my trusty grapevine wreath form from the basement {where it has been sitting for only like a month... I literally JUST took it down from Christmas time. Yes, I'm a slacker.}.

I then raided my fabric stash and found the fabric for the scarf I was trying to make a while back. I was TRYING to make a ruffly scarf for a friend using elastic thread, and it was a COMPLETE FAIL. I remember throwing the scarf across the room and screaming. True story.

I wrapped the scarf around and around and around the wreath, then secured it by wrapping twine (from my husband's garden stash) around and around and around the wreath. I love twine. Just sayin'.

Last but certainly not least, my favorite part: a fabric flower! I made this a while back thinking I'd add it to a scarf (to wear around my neck... not for a wreath), but haven't really done that. It has been gathering dust on my dresser, actually. So I pinned it on my wreath and it adds just the right amount of cheer to my simple spring wreath, don't you think?

I love it. It's understated, but I like that. You can really see it nicely from the street.

Oh, yes, more pictures...

And, of course, the toddler wanted in on the photo shoot, too. Love that girl!
