DIY gift from coach to players

The hubs and I coach club volleyball during the winter and spring, and we just finished up another great season! We celebrate the end of each season with a picnic in our backyard, and invite all of the players and their families over for a BBQ feast and some outdoor volleyball.

We also usually get a little something for each player as a "thank you" for being on our team, working hard, and doing a job well done.

This year, JT got some blank note cards and wrote one for each player, with notes about how they did this season, what he saw them improve on, and also gives them their goals card, which each girl completed at the beginning of the season. This gives them a visual to see what they wanted to work on, and whether or not they improved.

So I did something fun to go along with the card! See?

Here's how to make these cute DIY pop (or if you're from the east coast: soda; or if you're from texas: coke) bottles:

1. Get Crush pop (soda; coke... you get the idea) bottles in the glass version.

2. Make the labels to go on the bottles themselves. Click the image below to download your own copy for free! {Obviously, this only works for volleyball, so if you coach a different sport, you'll need a different cutesy phrase.}

Click the image, then click on it again to enlarge, then save (right-click and save as). It is 8.5" x 11". I printed on white card stock. Font used is "Cracked."

3. Cut each label out and adhere to the glass bottles. I used a piece of double-stick tape on one end, then a piece of regular tape on the seam.

4. Make your name tags. I simply used iWork Pages for MacBook, added dark purple stripes, then a text box with name and jersey number over top of the stripes. After printing on white card stock, I cut out with a scrapbooking scissors in an oval.

5. Punch a hole in each name tag.

6. Tie onto bottle with twine, or whatever you have on hand.

THAT'S IT!! So easy, so fun! Each of our players LOVED them, and some said they weren't ever going to drink the pop. Ha.

I love the labels, so cute! Thanks for your nice comments on my blog! You do bake my cookie tarts at 350. I have changed this on my blog so thanks for letting me know! I couldn't find an email address on your blog, so that's why I am commenting here. I live in Belmont Estates, so we're blogging neighbors :)
