out with the dingy

Now that I have two children, I'm practically doing laundry every day. Lets face it, with all the pee, poop (yes, I said it), snot, drool, grass stains, dirt, sweat, tears, blood, and all that nastiness, laundry simply needs to be done on a daily basis. And since it takes me a while to get to the actual folding of the clean laundry, its an even more prolonged process.

Now, to get me more motivated and excited about doing laundry, I decided to update my dingy old laundry closet. I mean, LOOK at it. YUCK! (Whoever decided ivory/cream was a good neutral is WRONG. I loathe ivory/cream.)

Here is the plan for the revamp:

You'll notice a certain stuffed lemur sitting on the washing machine. Yep, he needs to be hand washed because its covered in pee. And, to be honest, its been sitting there for more than a week. Perhaps this little room could also be considered a confessional? I kid, I kid.

I will be changing the paint color on the walls and ceiling (already done!), changing out the light fixture (already bought!), covering up that unsightly electrical panel (I have something fabulous in mind), and organizing all of that... stuff.

Also:

There is a nice space inside the laundry closet with shelving, which of course, are ivory/cream, and of course, will be painted (already done!). I will also be organizing all of THIS stuff. Games, cleaning supplies, and most importantly, my fabric and crafting stash! I'm not privileged enough at this point to have a craft room, so this is it. It must be organized. Seriously.

On the other side of the washer dryer is a blank wall, which I have big plans for as well. Think text art and clothes drying functionality.

Oh! And I made THIS:

It will find its home in an extra large frame that I found for 50 cents (50 cents!) at a yard sale. The frame had glass intact, and I will use the extra space below this printable for adding more stain tips as I go along. With age comes wisdom right? I'm just allowing room for that. :) And, glass is awesome because I can use a dry erase marker or sharpie to add to my list!

This cheat sheet is made at size 8.5" x 11" (a standard sheet of paper), but if you would like one changed to 8" x 10" or colors edited, comment and leave your email address and I'll see what I can do!
